Our Life With DogsStan and Jane Flowers have been handling dogs professionally together since 1982. They are both members of the Dog Handler's Guild, Inc., which was established in 1963, with Stan being one of the founding members. They also belong to the American Boxer Club, the Bulldog Club of America, the Weimaraner Club of America and the French Bulldog Club of America. They conduct their handling business from their home and private kennel named Evergreen. It is located on eighteen acres in the country in Buffalo, Minnesota, which is about thirty miles west of Minneapolis/St Paul. They travel to shows with fifteen to twenty dogs in their Prevost coach. Each year they attend about 130 shows with a variety of breeds. Stan has devoted his entire professional career to handling dogs. He began showing dogs as a youngster and was awarded Best Junior Handler at the Chicago International Dog Show in 1952. He apprenticed for well-known professional handler Larry Downey for many years, where he learned to care for and present all breeds of dogs. Stan has shown dogs in all seven groups to Best In Show wins. Jane began her involvement with purebred dogs in 1972, when she acquired her first boxer. Since then over sixty Evergreen boxers have completed their championships, several of which are group and Best In Show winners.
The Flowers began showing French bulldogs in 1990, and since then have shown eight Frenchies to Best In Show wins. They have finished championships on over 75 Frenchies. They began breeding Frenchies in 2001 and have bred several champions and a group winner. Other breeds in which they have a long standing reputation for winning include Weimaraners and American Foxhounds. They have shown many to Best In Show wins.
